Welcome
by Norman Hedman
Hi, Everyone!
Thanks
for dropping by to the first of my personal messages. I am glad you
are here to check out my monthly news.
The
release my fifth album, "Garden of Forbidden Fruit," will be an
exciting change from prior albums. Those of you that have been with
me in the past, and have heard my previous work, will know what I
mean. Although, it has a stronger element of R&B, "Garden of
Forbidden Fruit" still contains my signature tropical rhythm sounds.
To hear samples of the
record, go back to my home page (if it is not already open, click
here)
and
click Tropique at the bottom of the page,
and then click the CD tab. To hear a song, click the button to
the left of each song title.
I am
also excited about the launch of my new label, PowerLight Media.
We are scheduling two to three releases each year, which commences
with the release of "Garden Of Forbidden Fruit" in April 2006.
Projects from Aj and the The Tsiganov Brothers are also due to be
released on PowerLight Media.
There is
much more to come in 2006. I appreciate you tuning in!

What's In a Name?
Reflections
Norman's congas feature a reflection of his likeness, as his
legendary stature on the instrument reflects a great achievement.
Likewise, one of Norman's trademarks as a human being is that he is
reflective about the experiences that influence his character and
his career.
This forum is a place
for him to reflect on all of these things.
The Groove
As a world-class
percussionist and band leader, Norman creates and leads the "groove"
in countless musical situations. But this word is also a common
metaphor for the daily pulse of life.
Anyone who is intimate
with Norman's work knows that his music captures and integrates the
pulse of many cultures; the flavors and emotions that contribute
positively to a "world groove." It is our hope that this forum will
bring Norman's fans into his "groove" so that they can become more
intimate and reflective about the great music being produced by
PowerLight Media.
We expect that a new
edition of Reflections in the Groove will be published every
8-12 weeks (depending on Norman's busy schedule)!
